High on the side of a hilltop, a gorgeous 4,756 square foot multi-level home is perched like an eagle’s nest overlooking pristine forest service land and crimson buttes. Chosen by owners, Cary and Dana Daugherty, the discriminating details make the difference. Details like the exquisite granite counter tops with beautiful custom cabinets and doors in alder, add to the overall demeanor. The entryway is absolutely regal in appearance and is accented by a small fountain. The rear of the house has a very unique waterfall spilling into an inviting negative edge pool. The way it was constructed gives the illusion it naturally belongs on the side of the hill. Even the driveway holds interest with the flagstone inset in concrete. Cedar planking on the garage doors are a welcome change of pace and add style to what is normally an unattractive area of a home. Although Moore built this magnificent home, he can’t take any credit for the “to die for” views of Cathedral Rock. However, it’s hard to ignore the intuitive use of the site by Moore and architect Carl Nelson. Their superb placement of the home takes full advantage of the views. |

This enviable site, however, presented many challenges to Moore. He explained the main challenge of the home was the dramatically sloping lot. His degree in civil engineering was quite helpful in building this home and determining solutions. His vast knowledge doesn’t end there. He has served as president and board member of Sedona Licensed Contractors Association and has been building here in Sedona for over 25 years. He is also a licensed residential and commercial contractor and has completed multiple projects ranging from $50,000.00 tenant improvements to million dollar plus residences. Recently Moore has completed LaTierra Plaza I & II located across from Airport Road and the complex which Sedona Urgent Care Center is now located. |

Today Moore has assembled a winning team that includes, Richard Schmidt, his superintendent and right hand man for 19 years. The rest of the crew has been with Moore for several years, which helps to produce a consistent high quality product. The final component of the team is Barbara Jones, the office manager. She is actively involved in all projects from start to finish and make sure things run smoothly. In Tom Moore’s own words “It’s a team effort. Our people make the difference.”
After talking to some of Moore’s clients they all agree. Moore helped them through the stresses that are inherent in any building project. His attention to detail from groundbreaking to finished product made the process an enjoyable one. Moore’s philosophy is to build a quality product at a competitive price, and have some fun while doing it!
